You may have heard of the company Ebates. Ebates offers a cash back percentage on hundreds of stores simply by shopping online through their site. I signed up for Ebates a few months ago and definitely feel I'm ready to share my overall review.

 

 

The sign up process is extremely easy. You provide basic information such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, etc. I received a $10 gift card to Macys simply for signing up. The company has various sign-up promotions so you may receive a different incentive at the time of enrollment. Once I signed up, it was shopping time. I browsed the hundreds of options of stores that they have participating and I noticed the cash back percentages varied. For example, Macys was offering 6% while Sephora was offering 8%. They also have car rental companies, airlines, hotels and many other services participating. I decided to go with Macy's (my all time favorite store). I shopped for a total purchase of $112. I received cash back of $5.70 on that purchase. The cash back is based on the subtotal. Taxes/fees are excluded in the calculation. I was so excited that I took full advantage by doing all of my Christmas shopping online through them. Ebates sends their cash back "Big Fat Check" quarterly. So about a month ago, I got a whopping $173 for my purchases the previous quarter.

 

Overall, the concept is brilliant. I get paid to do something that I already do anyway - shop online. They are very communicative and keep me informed as soon as the cash back has been added to my account. They sent me an e-mail letting me know that my "Big Fat Check" was on it's way. On Valentine's Day, I went to eat at Fleming's located at 2525 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Coral Gables, FL 33134. I had made reservations for 2 for 7:45PM and got there a few minutes earlier. When we arrived, we were greeted right away. The host told us it would just be five minutes past my reservation time. They were right on the money. At 7:50, they were walking us to our table. I analyzed how they handled the high volume of people arriving. Some people didn't have reservations, but they still found a way to accommodate them. Truly impressive.

 

The dinner experience was not short of perfect. The waiter and his assistant were on top of us the whole time, making sure everything was to our liking. We ordered the Petite Filet Mignon and the Main Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to perfection. We also ordered two sides: Chipotle Mac & Cheese and the Fleming's Potatoes. The Chipotle Mac & Cheese was delicious with a nice combination of cheesy with a small kick. I didn't find the Fleming's Potatoes to be as good. They tasted okay though. For desert we had the decadent Chocolate Lava Cake. It was so delicious. The warm cake with fudge mixed with the vanilla ice cream and fresh cream was to die for!

 

We saw something happen while we were waiting for the check. A man proposed to his girlfriend right next to us. The restaurant created a beautiful desert and placed flower petals on their table. It was truly a beautiful setup for a proposal.

 

Overall, our dining experience was five stars worthy. Both the service and the quality of food were excellent. It is even more impressive that this restaurant maintained both in top condition given all of the clientele that they had that night.

backer Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149 is the place to go. The restaurant has undergone a major renovation without sacrificing the gorgeous view of Brickell and Miami Beach. Whether you want to sit by the window or head outside for some drinks or a cozy time by the fireplace, you can't go wrong here.

 

 

Chick-Fil-A - Grand Opening

Last week was the grand opening of Chick-Fil-A at 9301 West Flagler St., Miami, FL 33174. I went to have lunch there and they had setup speakers in the parking lot and were blasting fun music. They also had their mascot out on Flagler Street attracting customers. The location has a fresh new smell and look. Their staff was very friendly and they were going around making sure everyone's order was prepared to their utmost satisfaction. They gave away mini cows (pic below) with their traditional slogan "Eat Mor Chikin" as well as gift cards for free sandwiches, breakfast and chicken tenders. They had balloons up and each table had a vase with real roses and the "Chick-Fil-A logo was printed on them (pic below). It's nice to welcome such an innovative restaurant to the Flagler/Doral area.

I recently went to see Amaluna by Cirque du Soleil at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. I was greeted by a parking fee of $25! After the shock of having to pay so much to park the rest was great. The beautiful tent can be seen from the expressway. Hard to believe that under these tents this company sets up such a world-class performance. The tent setup has AC and great seating. You can't really go wrong no matter where you sit. The show was full of beautiful lights, vibrant music and outstanding performers. You really feel like you leave your seat and enter the show. The performers are excellent. It's amazing to see how their bodies are so sculpted and defined from the years of training and performing. There was a clown character in between the performances which was hilarious. The clown gives the show an interactive feel. Overall A+ rating.

This is my favorite place to visit. It is located at 3609 South Miami Ave., Miami, FL 33133. At this location there is a chapel which offers Catholic mass and confession. It is a quaint but beautifully decorated place of worship. In the parking lot of this chapel, is the beautiful bay. They have setup benches where you can sit. It really offers you a breathtaking view of Miami, Key Biscayne and Brickell all in one place.
